More multiplayer is coming too…Ī Battle Royale mode called ‘Firestorm’, no doubt attempting to capitalise on the success of PUBG and Fortnite, is also being launched as a free update with up to 64 players competing on a single map. Soldiers now also have more freedom of movement (you can sprint while crouching, for example) with eight multiplayer maps available at launch to test out these new features. But now the ‘Fortifications’ system lets you build barricades and defences around the map something of a crucial addition to the formula.

DICE have even released an explanation of ‘Attrition’, along with some tips, to help players adapt.ĭestructible buildings and terrain – long a staple of Battlefield as a series – make their presence felt once again here. This is all part of the developers’ aim to put tactics and strategy more at the forefront, along with making squad-based teamwork more prominent, and reducing the ability of snipers to ‘camp’ and dominate from afar.
